Stony Brook Motorsports, a student-led team at  Stony Brook University uses Kenesto to manage CAD files, project documentation, and workflows.  The aim is to compete with hundreds of other college teams from around the world in the annual Baja SAE competition.

Since adopting Kenesto in 2022, the team has used the company’s cloud-based document management solution to organize and access their files, enabling team members to focus on innovation and design. According to team president Julianna Wehmann, “Kenesto has been a necessity for our team for as long as I can remember. It helps us keep track of all our team’s documentation and CAD work, making the overall design and fabrication of the car possible, even with our team being spread out around the country. From the comfort of our homes or through our laptops, we are all able to access the cloud and work together to create our Baja cars.”

Edward Cibu, the Brakes Lead, observes how Kenesto helped him contribute from four hours away: “Even when living 4 hours away from our university and the Stony Brook Motorsport shop, I was still able to help contribute to the creation of Car 92. Specifically, I was able to work through Kenesto to create and update the SolidWorks CAD to design and perfect the brake system for the Baja Car.”

Our ongoing partnership with Stony Brook Motorsports showcases how Kenesto facilitates real-world engineering projects and promotes collaboration across distances. Whether it’s managing complex CAD files or ensuring secure access to project documentation, Kenesto empowers the next generation of engineers to innovate, collaborate, and succeed.
