RoboJackets, Georgia Tech’s student-led rover team, competes in the University Rover Challenge designing and operating complex rover and drone systems under real-world, Mars-like conditions.
As their assemblies grew more advanced, managing SolidWorks files through GrabCAD created friction: duplicate parts, uncertainty around the latest version, and slower iterations.

Since adopting Kenesto in 2023, the team’s day-to-day work has become much easier and more organized.
As Arunn Sankar, Mechanical Lead (2024–2025), shares:
“Integrating Kenesto into our SolidWorks workflow has greatly improved how we design and iterate. Everyone works from the latest models, so we can push rapid changes without version conflicts. The built-in version history gives full transparency into each part’s evolution, which is ideal for troubleshooting and design reviews. Kenesto also prevents us from using duplicate parts, keeping our library lean. Its flexible folder hierarchy makes nesting complex subsystems into the final rover and drone much more streamlined.”
