A few years ago, Penn Electric Racing was managing hundreds of CAD files across Google Drive, and it wasn’t holding up. With over 120 student engineers working across mechanical, electrical hardware, electrical software, and operations, the team needed a system that could keep pace.
Since partnering with Kenesto in 2024, Penn Electric Racing has used our document management tools to organize and track CAD files, keep a clear team-wide view of the car’s development, and make collaboration easier across their divisions.
This year the team had its strongest season yet at Formula SAE Michigan: 15th overall out of 108 teams, first place in the Business Presentation event, the GM Technical Innovation Award, the Cummins Sustainable Power and Performance Award, and sixth place as a Design Finalist. They also logged more than 150 miles of testing before competition.
Here’s what Ethan Liu, Mechanical Co-Lead, told us:
“Kenesto’s document management system has played an important role in helping Penn Electric Racing engineer some of our most successful vehicles. It makes it easy to organize and track our CAD files while maintaining a clear, team-wide view of the car’s development.”
We’re proud to support Penn Electric Racing and help the next generation of engineers spend less time managing files and more time engineering.
If your team works with SOLIDWORKS and needs a better way to manage and share CAD data, we’d be happy to show you what Kenesto can do. Schedule a demo whenever works for you.
